Rational
Typographical manifestos about contemporary beauty are exhibited in these interconnected spaces.
In the manifesto 'On Beauty' the current robotisation of the (applied) arts is placed in the context of art history. The conceptual art of the American artist Sol LeWitt forms the starting point: "the idea becomes the machine that creates the art". The signature of the artist, insofar as it is still relevant in our era of co-creation, is transferred to the algorithm that produces the artwork.
The manifesto 'The New Painterly Realism' refers to Malevich's manifesto of Suprematism from roughly a century ago. The 21st century New Painterly Realism is generated by code and exists exclusively in VR. The appearance is, in accordance with the Suprematist visual language, abstract. Any meaning or sense making should be avoided. It is solely about actual visual phenomena and the relationships between them.
